Client’s Solar PV offer improved by £9,000, following perseverance by Consumer Reclaim

Consumer Reclaim have achieved another great result for one of our clients. After our initial complaint the client received an offer of a goodwill payment of £1,600.

We did not believe this to be anywhere near appropriate and progressed our client’s case to the Financial Ombudsman service, who initially assisted us in achieving an improved offer of circa £2, 400. We still did not believe this was an appropriate offer for our client.

After further pursuance we were able to obtain an offer of a loan reduction of approximately £1,900, a refund of circa £9,200 and a trouble and upset payment of £300 for our client. Our persistence resulted in a total offer of over £11,400. That is an improvement of over £9,000 on the initial offer we received from the lender.

Our client also had concerns regarding the quality of work carried out during installation. Therefore, as part of our client’s offer, we also ensured that the lender arranged for an accredited company to attend the property to inspect the PV system and carry out any necessary repairs, free of charge.
